Watching the tide roll away...
Just sittin' on the dock of the bay
We're so proud of Ronan. Last Saturday, March 17, he actually asked to sit on what we call "the big boy potty" (aka, the regular toilet) after dinner. And he did his business just like a big boy! Almost every night since then, he has sat on the toilet for a few minutes while we read him books, and without fail, he's pooped. He's very interested in the whole process, the "big boy toilet paper," flushing. We were completely surprised by his willingness to use the toilet because we weren't sure at all how to "start" training him.... But his Grandma Kathy helped him see his little potty seat as a fun thing and I guess that's all it took. Thanks, Popo!
We have no idea what it will mean to use the toilet in a public restroom. Guess it's time to get some of those disposable toilet seat covers... Ew...
Also, each morning his diaper is filled with about 3 pounds of pee... I know nighttime training happens MUCH later, but we still ask ourselves, How does such a little person pee so much? And how will he ever "hold it" through the night?? Yikes.
This weekend, we're celebrating Ronan's Big 2! We have a feeling that "transportation" will be a theme. Both Grandma and Mom/Dad are learning how to put together tricycles!
