Kauai Pics - Poipu (Second part of our trip)

After 5 nights in Waipouli on the eastern shore of Kauai, we made our way to Poipu on the southern shore. We took a short cruise down the Wailua River to see a massive, lush dome called the Fern Grotto. If it weren't so hot and humid and if the kids weren't having a tough time, it would have been quite relaxing. At least it was picturesque...

We finally made it to the Grand Hyatt in the early afternoon. What a splendid hotel! Almost every part of the grounds felt picture-worthy. I mean really, could the picture below be any more evocative of island harmony and serenity?

First things first -- nap time! The boys were lucky enough to have a room all to themselves. They took their naps there (see above), but at nighttime they woke up a lot, had to go to the bathroom, got scared, cried, rolled off the bed (poor Callum!), got hungry, etc., so we played musical beds for three nights. Christian often ended up with Ronan in one of the four beds, and I ended up with Callum. So much for the boys "having their own room."

One of our favorite restaurants on this trip, and just a short walk from our room!

Ahh.... a romantic 5 pm dinner for the Bennetts

A highlight of the Hyatt for Ronan: the kayaks!

Aloha!
