School Update

Ronan survived his first week of school! Yay!

We are still fighting the remnants of the cold that Mama gave to him (runny nose, coughing), but he's been in great spirits every day at school. He's fallen into a good routine that takes him from 8 am till 6 pm. Here's a snapshot of his day:

8 - 9 am "Quiet" play with trains and puzzles (he's still getting used to this)
9 - 9:30 Free play on bikes, cars, and slides (he loves this!)
9:30 - 9:45 Potty time and washing hands
9:45 - 10 Snack time
10 - 10:30 Reading, art, dancing with the two-year-olds
10:30 11:45 - Walk to Golden Gate Park and play in the arboretum
12 - 1 Lunch
1 - 3 Nap
3 - 4 Reading and art
4 - 4:15 Snack time
4:30 - 6:00 Free play or other activity

Obviously, he's exhausted when he gets home, which means earlier to bed!

Ronan loves his teachers and is beginning to talk fondly of his classmates. They have wonderful names like Savannah, Lucas, Amelie, Wyatt and Kaitlyn. We're looking forward to him forming friendships with these kids and learning from and alongside them. Already his language has improved a lot and he's saying all kinds of new and funny things to us at home!

If we could just improve Mama's commute situation, that would make things a lot better... On most school days so far it has taken me 1 to 1.5 hours each way to get to work and to get home, due to the time of day and very heavy SF traffic. Does not make for a relaxed mommy.... :-/
